Welcome Reception for the New Agricultural Counselor in the USDA Brazil

On  May 10, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in Brazil hosted a welcome reception for the new Agricultural Counselor, Mr. Michael Conlon, and the Attaché, Ms. Melody Maxwell. The event included representatives from the Brazilian government and the private sector. At the event, he highlighted the long-standing bilateral relationship with Brazil in agriculture and pointed out the importance of strengthening and maintaining cooperation between the two countries.

Mr. Conlon has worked for USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) since 1988, including overseas tours in Ankara, Turkey (2020-2021), Bogota, Colombia (2014-2019), Tokyo, Japan (2006 -2010), Santiago, Chile (2002), London, England (1997-2001), and Mexico City, Mexico (1993-1997). He also served in several domestic assignments at FAS in Washington, DC. Michael Conlon started as Agricultural Counselor in Brasilia in September 2021.
