With support from the Agricultural Trade Office (ATO), from May 2-5, the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) and Food Export NE and Midwest exhibited at the 2016 Sao Paulo State Supermarket Association (APAS) Trade Show. Held in Brazil’s largest consumer market and the commercial capital of South America, APAS is considered the leading supermarket and retail trade show in Latin America. The show brings together the entire supermarket chain in Brazil and abroad. This year, APAS hosted 685 exhibitors, including 138 international participants. Estimated show attendees totaled 74,000, with visitors from 56 countries. The aim of APAS is to promote food and beverages in the retail sector, with an emphasis on new trends such as organic, all natural, and health-food products.
