On December 7th, the U.S. Dairy Export Council (USDEC) organized an in-person technical seminar entitled “Formulating with US Dairy Proteins” in Sao Paulo for importers and dairy processors. The event’s main objective was to promote U.S. dairy ingredients for importers and distributors in the Brazilian market.
For the main panel, USDEC supported the participation of Dr. Rohit Kapoor, Vice-President of Products Research at Dairy Management, Inc. Dr. Kapoor’s talk focused on the functionality and application of dairy proteins in the sports nutrition segment, which is a trending topic in Brazil due to its relevant sports nutrition sector. Brazil holds strong potential for U.S. dairy ingredients. With a population of over 210 million, a large and sophisticated food industry, and a keen interest in health and nutrition, market opportunities for U.S. ingredients abound. Brazil’s sports nutrition market is among the five largest globally, and the use of dairy proteins in that market is broad and well-accepted.
