MAPA accepts Health Certificate for Lobster and Lobster Products from Wild Fisheries

After several years of negotiations, on April 28, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) received an official response from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA), approving the final language for the Health Certificate for Lobster and Lobster Products from Wild Fisheries. For over six years, officials from the USDA Mission in Brazil, worked with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to simplify the certificate language for exports of U.S. live lobster and lobster products to Brazil.  The new certificate language will make it easier for U.S. companies to export these products to the Brazilian market.
